The Blue Doghouse: A Tail-Wagging Oasis
for Baytown's Furry Friends

Tucked away at 2827 N. Alexander Dr. in Baytown, TX, The Blue Doghouse is more than just a dog daycare and boarding facility—it's a haven for pets and their owners alike. Open for just four months, this local gem has quickly become a beloved retreat for four-legged companions. Leah Ferguson, the heart and soul behind this endeavor, brings her lifelong passion for animals to every aspect of her business.

Leah, along with her husband Steve, has deep roots in the Baytown and Mont Belvieu communities. Together, they've raised three sons—Blake, Cade, and Trevor—and their family wouldn't be complete without their three dogs: Sarg, a Miniature Poodle, and Chihuahua mixes Ginny and Georgia. Leah’s love for her own fur babies inspired her vision for The Blue Doghouse: a place where dogs can thrive, socialize, and feel at home.

A Vision of Playful Pups and Happy Owners

The Blue Doghouse isn’t your typical doggie daycare. It’s an open-play facility that emphasizes pack socialization, giving dogs the opportunity to build bonds and burn energy in a safe, engaging environment. Its large outdoor play yard offers pups plenty of sunshine, fresh air, and room to roam—a combination that keeps tails wagging and spirits high.

But The Blue Doghouse doesn’t stop at providing excellent care for dogs; Leah’s genuine love for people shines in her approach to customer service. “Our goal is to create a space that feels like home for pets and gives their owners peace of mind,” she says. Leah’s dedication to her community is evident in her plans to partner with other pet-focused small businesses for fun events and her commitment to supporting the Baytown Animal Shelter.

Building Community, One Wag at a Time

For Leah, The Blue Doghouse is about more than business—it’s about building connections. Her vision includes collaborating with local organizations and fostering a sense of community among pet owners. Whether it’s a playful afternoon in the yard or an upcoming event with fellow pet enthusiasts, Leah is excited to grow The Blue Doghouse into a cornerstone of Baytown’s pet-friendly culture.

A Bright Future for Baytown’s Fur Babies

Although still in its early days, The Blue Doghouse is already leaving an impression on Baytown. Leah’s expertise, paired with her warm, community-focused approach, has made The Blue Doghouse the go-to spot for pet owners who want the best for their furry companions. With a philosophy rooted in love, care, and fun, The Blue Doghouse promises to be a cherished local institution for years to come.

If you’re looking for a place where your dog can play, socialize, and feel at home, visit The Blue Doghouse today. It’s a wag-worthy experience you—and your pets—won’t want to miss!

Baytown Positioned for Growth with
World-Class Blue Hydrogen Plant

ExxonMobil’s planned Baytown hydrogen plant continues to attract global interest, with French ammonia distributor Trammo signing a Heads of Agreement (HOA) to discuss a long-term deal for 300,000 to 500,000 tons of low-carbon ammonia per year.

The Baytown facility, expected to be one of the world’s largest blue hydrogen plants, will produce up to 1 billion cubic feet of low-carbon hydrogen daily, which will be used to create over 1 million tons of blue ammonia annually. By capturing approximately 98% of associated carbon dioxide emissions, the project positions Baytown as a leader in sustainable industrial innovation.

Trammo aims to distribute the blue ammonia globally for use in fertilizer production and other industrial applications. This partnership follows similar interest from Japanese companies Mitsubishi and Jera, further establishing Baytown’s growing role in the international low-carbon energy market.

The project is expected to generate substantial economic benefits for Baytown, including job creation and increased industrial activity. ExxonMobil plans to finalize investment decisions in 2025, with production anticipated to begin in 2029, pending government support and regulatory approvals.

This milestone highlights Baytown’s importance in driving clean energy advancements while boosting local economic growth and strengthening its position on the global energy stage.
