Baytown Police to Host
Citizens Police Academy
Baytown residents and workers have an exciting opportunity to gain an inside look at the daily operations of the Baytown Police Department. The next Citizens Police Academy class begins on Jan. 9, 2025, and applications are now open for those interested in attending.
This engaging 10-week course, held on Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., takes place at the Baytown Police Academy, located at 203 E. Wye Drive. Participants will explore a wide range of topics, including 911 operations, burglary investigations, crime prevention, narcotics enforcement, and tactical driving. Attendees will also learn about K-9 policing, firearm safety, emergency response team operations, and much more.
The Citizens Police Academy is designed to foster a deeper understanding of the Baytown Police Department’s mission and operations, offering participants a unique opportunity to engage with officers and experience the inner workings of law enforcement.
To join, applicants must be at least 18 years old and either live or work in Baytown. A criminal history screening is part of the application process to maintain the program's integrity.
This program not only educates but also strengthens the bond between the police department and the community it serves. Don’t miss this chance to gain valuable insights and connect with local law enforcement! Click for more information
