The Baytown Municipal Court is partnering with Strategic Recovery Solutions to offer free Narcan Training to the public through the Texas Overdose Prevention Program. This vital training will teach you how to properly administer Narcan to help prevent overdose deaths.

Judges Question Family’s Lawsuit in
Controversial Baytown Police Shooting Case

A Fifth Circuit panel expressed doubt about a civil suit brought by Pamela Turner’s family after she was fatally shot by Baytown officer Juan De La Cruz in 2019. The family argues De La Cruz knew of Turner’s mental illness and shot her when she no longer posed a threat. De La Cruz claims Turner used his Taser on him during the altercation. A federal judge previously dismissed the case, ruling the officer’s actions were justified.
