SWAT Standoff at Baytown Hotel
Murder Suspect in Custody

A wanted murder suspect is in custody following a standoff with law enforcement at a hotel on 1931 East Freeway near Thompson Rd in Baytown.

Authorities, acting on information linking the 35-year-old suspect to a murder on Uvalde Road weeks earlier, called in SWAT after learning he may have been armed with a rifle. The standoff lasted two to three hours, during which negotiators attempted to persuade the suspect to surrender peacefully.

After chemical munitions were deployed, the suspect finally surrendered. Officers breached the hotel room door to ensure the scene was secure. No one else was inside the room, and no injuries were reported.

The suspect is believed to be connected to a November 26th home invasion and shooting at The Selena Apartments on Uvalde Road, where a man was found dead outside the residence. The motive for the home invasion remains under investigation.

The suspect will be booked into jail on the murder warrant, and further details are pending as authorities continue their inquiry.

Question Mark What GIF

Thursday’s answer
A) Hummingbird

Hummingbirds are the only birds capable of flying backward, thanks to their unique ball-and-socket joint at the shoulder that allows their wings to rotate 180 degrees in all directions. This extraordinary ability helps them hover and maneuver while feeding on nectar from flowers.
