Local Deaf Community Groups Formed
Everyone Is Invited To Attend
Dennis Voris Jr., founded four local groups to support the local deaf community. Two of the groups are in the Baytown/Mont Belvieu area, West Chambers Deaf Social and Deaf Social Whisk Bakery. The other two are East Houston Deaf Social and Pasadena Deaf Social.
These events offer deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing people a friendly space to connect through various means beyond sign language, such as using notes and gestures.
Attendees often include not only deaf and hard of hearing people, but also interpreters, interpreter students, high school ASL students, and people who would like to learn sign language. The atmosphere is family-friendly and anyone interested is welcome to attend.
