TALKE USA’s Mont Belvieu Facility
Leads the Way with
First-Ever OCS Logistics Verification
TALKE USA, Inc. has announced a major environmental milestone: its Mont Belvieu facility is the first logistics service provider (LSP) worldwide to achieve the newly launched Operation Clean Sweep® (OCS) Logistics Verification. This recognition underscores TALKE USA’s commitment to sustainable practices under its “Crafting Responsible Logistics” initiative.
The OCS Logistics Verification program, developed by the Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) and the American Chemistry Council (ACC), sets a new industry benchmark for preventing plastic resin loss across trucking companies, warehouses, transloaders, and other logistics operations. Building upon the earlier OCS Blue Verification, the program demands rigorous facility-level compliance with over 25 specific management practices designed to ensure the safe containment, transfer, and handling of plastic materials.
TALKE USA successfully demonstrated full implementation of these measures, setting a global precedent for responsible logistics operations. The verification highlights the company's integrated focus on safety, environmental accountability, and sustainability throughout its supply chain processes.
This achievement also complements TALKE USA’s broader sustainability goals, which include the introduction of hydrogen-powered trucks and a target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2040. These initiatives reflect a strategic vision to deliver high-performance logistics solutions with minimal environmental impact.
As the first facility worldwide to meet the OCS Logistics Verification standard, TALKE USA’s Mont Belvieu site sets a new benchmark for the logistics sector, reinforcing the company's leadership in environmental stewardship and operational excellence.

Parents Charged in Connection With Fatal Shooting of Teen Girl in Baytown
The parents of a Baytown teenager accused of fatally shooting 14-year-old Anaya Zachary have been charged with making a firearm accessible to a child. Court documents allege that Kenneth Coney, 61, and Cassie Coney, 37, failed to properly secure a handgun, which their son later used in the tragic March 21 shooting.
According to investigators, the teen, a student at Baytown Junior High School, had gotten into an argument with Zachary earlier that day, possibly while riding the school bus. After being dropped off at his home, the boy reportedly entered his parents’ bedroom and retrieved a black Taurus .38 special revolver from an unsecured travel bag located on the floor near their bed. Authorities said the teen had previously discovered the gun about three weeks earlier while searching for hair trimmers.
The teen then allegedly dressed in black clothing and a black mask before returning to the playground at the apartment complex on Village Lane, where he shot Zachary multiple times. After the shooting, he returned home and placed the gun back in the travel bag.
Zachary, who had moved to Texas from Opelousas several years ago to live with her father, was pronounced dead after being shot in the chest and abdomen.
Following the incident, Baytown police executed a search warrant and found the revolver readily accessible in the travel bag, which had no lock and a simple single zipper. The teen admitted to the shooting during questioning and has been charged with murder. He is currently held at the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center.
Efforts to obtain statements from the Coneys the day after the shooting were unsuccessful, as both refused to speak with authorities or Child Protective Services workers. They have since retained legal counsel.
The case has reignited calls for greater responsibility among gun owners, particularly regarding the safe storage of firearms. Advocates stress that proper firearm security is critical to preventing tragedies involving children and teens.
