Global Cold Storage Leader Americold
Invests in Baytown Facility

Americold, a global leader in temperature-controlled logistics, has expanded its presence in Texas with the acquisition of a 10.7 million-cubic-foot cold storage facility located in Baytown’s Cedar Port Industrial Park.

The $127 million purchase adds 35,700 pallet positions to Americold’s portfolio, boosting its capacity to serve one of the world’s largest grocery retailers—a key driver behind the acquisition.

Headquartered in Atlanta, Americold now owns and operates 239 temperature-controlled warehouses worldwide, managing approximately 1.4 billion cubic feet of refrigerated storage space across its international network.

The strategic Baytown location, just east of Houston, further strengthens Americold’s position in one of the country’s most active logistics and industrial hubs, offering proximity to the Port of Houston and critical distribution infrastructure.
