ACMI’s Exploration Park Development
ACMI Properties has announced plans to develop a 1.5 million-square-foot industrial complex at Exploration Park, a 207-acre site located at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston. The ambitious project aims to support industries involved in space commerce, advanced manufacturing, robotics, artificial intelligence, and human spaceflight.
The development will consist of 22 buildings, ranging in size from 15,000 to 500,000 square feet, with flexible, built-to-suit designs to accommodate a variety of high-tech industries. Planned features include 24 to 30 feet of clear height, rear or side loading docks, and space for research and development, clean rooms, offices, light assembly, and manufacturing.
Construction on the first phase is scheduled to begin in Q2 2025, with completion expected by Q4 2026. JLL’s Richard Quarles, David Holland, and Angela Watford have been tapped as the brokerage team for the project.
A Growing Space Hub
Exploration Park is quickly becoming a key site for space-related research and development. The Texas A&M University System has already leased land within the park for the construction of the Texas A&M Space Institute, a 32-acre facility dedicated to education and research. The university employs four astronauts on its faculty and has contributed to every NASA Mars rover mission, including the Perseverance Rover Team.
The area has also attracted major aerospace companies, including Axiom Space, which is developing a privately owned space station, and Collins Aerospace, which has a facility focused on space suit production.
ACMI Properties, the real estate arm of the American Center for Manufacturing and Innovation, sees the project as a milestone in America’s leadership in space. The company plans to attract commercial and defense-related tenants looking to develop the next generation of space exploration technology.
🚨MONT BELVIEU PD TEAMS UP WITH TXDOT
TO PREVENT DRUNK DRIVING CRASHES
OVER SPRING BREAK 🚨
What begins as a fun time with friends over Spring Break can turn tragic in an instant. That’s why TXDOT is reminding everyone, but especially students on Spring Break, to never drive after drinking any amount of alcohol. The Mont Belvieu Police Department and law enforcement officers all across Texas will ramp up efforts to identify and arrest drunk drivers from March 7 through March 23, coinciding with the national heightened enforcement period sponsored by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
During the 2023 Spring Break period, there were 375 alcohol-related crashes in Texas involving drivers between the ages of 17 and 30, including nine deaths. That’s more than half of all drunk driving crashes in the same 10-day period.
Students can save lives by designating a sober driver, using rideshares, taxis and mass transit, or simply staying put after drinking, and they can look out for their friends, too. Never get in the car with a friend who has been drinking. Instead, encourage them to always find a sober ride.
What might be an uncomfortable conversation could save a life.
TxDOT’s Drive Sober No Regrets campaign is a key component of #EndTheStreakTX, a broader social media and word-of-mouth effort that encourages drivers to make safer choices while behind the wheel to help end the streak of daily deaths. Nov. 7, 2000, was the last without a fatal crash on Texas roadways.

Thursday’s Quiz -What unique ability allows parrotfish to sleep safely in the ocean?
Answer: D) They create a protective mucus bubble around their bodies.
Parrotfish secrete a gel-like mucus cocoon around themselves before sleeping. This protective bubble helps mask their scent from predators and may even act as a barrier against parasites like blood-sucking isopods. It’s like having a built-in sleeping bag for underwater survival!
